Calling the shots ... Halle Berry

HALLE Berry flaunts her perfect curves in a skin-tight Lycra dress.
The 46-year-old Oscar winner rocked the little black dress at the Chicago premiere of her new movie, The Call.
She showed off her long toned legs in high strappy sandals.
And her teased and tousled hair was a definite improvement on the big afro style she adopted for the movie.
Halle plays a 911 operator who receives a call from a kidnap victim, played by Abigail Breslin.
To save the girl’s life, she is forced to confront a killer from her past.

The Cloud Atlas star was all smiles at the Windy City bash – and she has plenty to be happy about.
She has recently resolved her custody issues with Gabriel Aubry, the father of her four-year-old daughter, following his brawl with current beau Olivier Martinez on Thanksgiving day.
The model was reportedly furious when the actress revealed plans to move to France with her Dark Tide co-star.

But they have now reached an agreement which will see the little girl stay in the US.
French-Canadian Gabriel was initially charged after throwing a punch at Olivier during a row in November.
But the charges were dropped as the actress and her fiancé decided it would not be in Nahla’s interest to proceed

Halle Berry rocks tight black dress to premiere of The Call

Halle Berry rocks tight black dress to premiere of The Call...

Halle Berry's come a long way since winning the Oscar for Best Actress in 2001, but not in the right direction.
She's remained her huge star since her sterling turn in Monster's Ball, hell, she's even been a Bond girl, but critical success on the same scale has evaded her.
And for the last few movies, box office success has been just as elusive.
Scroll down for trailer...

Dark Tide, the 2011 thriller she met fiance Olivier Martinez on, was a total washout (pun intended), while Cloud Atlas with the safe pair of hands that is Tom Hanks underperformed.
She was also involved in the egregious, Movie 43, which was panned by critics and avoided by the public.
So she'll be hoping for a nice solid hit with The Call.

And the premise does sound intriguing.
The film, about a veteran 911 operator (Berry) who receives a call from a girl (Abigail Breslin) who has just been abducted and must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl’s life, hits theatres on March 15.
She was joined by her co-star Morris Chestnut for the big night.

Halle, 46, seems happier of late after seemingly resolving custody issues with the father her four-year-old daughter, Nahla.
Halle's ex was reportedly distraught when the actress tried to take his daughter to live in France. The pair eventually reached a custody agreement which means Nahla stays in the US.
Halle, who pays Aubry a reported $20,000 a month in child support, struck a deal with the Canadian model last year.

Aubry escaped prosecution after a brawl with Halle's partner Olivier Martinez on Thanksgiving Day.
He was initially charged, however those were later dropped with the French-Canadian ordered to stay out of trouble in the next year.
Halle and Olivier both reportedly felt it would not be in Nahla's best interest to prosecute her father for the fight.

Halle Berry Back for X-Men: Days of Future Past? Director Talks "Biggest" Film Yet

Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, Halle Berry, James McAvoy, X-Men First Class20th Century Fox
X-Men: Days of Future Past is going to be one star-studded action flick!
Director Bryan Singer is dishing on merging the stars of his original 2000 movie with the franchise's newer players Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy.
"I'm excited about all the actors," Singer told us last night at the Hollywood premiere of his new film Jack the Giant Slayer. "It's an incredible cast. It's a great story and it involves a lot of stuff that hasn't been in X-Men films before. New kids of technology, science fiction aspects."
Singer says that in addition to Hugh Jackman, who's returning as Wolverine, former X-Men cast members Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, Shawn Ashmore, Anna Paquin and Ellen Page will all be back from Days of Future Past, which Singer calls the "biggest" X-Men film yet.
So what about Halle Berry and Rebecca Romijn, who played Storm and Mystique respectively?
"It depends on how it works out," Singer said. "I loved working with Halle, so all I can say is we'll see what happens."
Last night, Hoult also gushed about reuniting with his X-Men fam. "It'll be great to be back with everyone," he said. "I know it's a particularly exciting thing for me on that one is having Hugh Jackman and those guys back because those are the guys I grew up watching in X-Men films."

Halle Berry leads Bond Oscars tribute

Halle Berry and Dame Shirley Bassey paid tribute to the James Bond films at the Academy Awards last night, but none of the 007 actors appeared on stage.
The actress - who played Bond girl Jinx opposite Pierce Brosnan's incarnation of 007 in 'Die Another Day' - led the tribute to the suave British secret agent at the Academy Awards, while the 76-year-old singer gave a rousing rendition of iconic Bond theme 'Goldfinger'.
Despite much speculation that all of the actors who have played 007 - including Sir Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig - would be united on stage for the first time ever at the ceremony, the segment instead concentrated on the music of Bond.
Former Oscar winner Halle told the star-studded audience: '(The music) is as inextricably linked to Bond as the Martini, the exotic cars and Pussy Galore.
'In film after film, movie-goers have been treated to songs reflective of the moment and scores as cool as 007 himself. Bond music is a genre all its own, guaranteed to make your heart beat faster and take your breath away.'
Following a brief montage of clips from the Bond series, the Welsh songstress - who has provided vocals for three Bond themes - took to the Oscars stage for the first time singing 'Goldfinger', and earned a standing ovation from A-list guests at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, including Reese Witherspoon and George Clooney.
Keeping with the Bond theme, Adele performed 'Skyfall' - the song from the latest 007 film of the same name - live for the very first time. The track also earned Adele and co-writer Paul Epworth the award for Best Original Song.
As well as the dedication to 50 years of 007, there was more reason to celebrate as 'Skyfall' - which starred Daniel Craig in the lead role - was the first Oscar nominated Bond film in over 30 years.

You could have made more of an effort! Halle Berry dresses down for a red carpet screening of her new film The Call

Her last film was a flop.
But that did not seem to encourage Halle Berry to dress up for the screening of her latest project on Tuesday night.
A dressed-down Halle Berry was the guest of honour a the red carpet screening of The Call in Miami, Florida.

However, the star looked like she was just popping out for dinner at the event hosted by the Woman's International Film Festival at the Regal South Beach.
The 46-year-old donned blue jeans that had been cut off above the ankle and still had a ragged edge with a white vintage running tank with the word 'Freedom' printed on it and a woven jacket.
Luckily The Cloud Atlas actress added some white stilettos with ankle straps ensuring the outfit did not look like she was just running errands.

The look was a far call from the ultra glamorous style she wore for Sunday's Oscars.
On that red carpet the one time Oscar winner wowed in a long-sleeved Versace black and sequined gown.
While her Tuesday night ensemble certainly did not sparkle - Halle's finger did.

The star made sure to flash her giant and unusual engagement ring, which is unmissable with its four-carat emerald centrepiece.
The man who gave her the impressive sparkler, Olivier Martinez, was thousands of miles away from his bride-to-be on Tuesday.
The French actor was spotted at Los Angeles, California, preparing to board a flight.
Sadly for Halle it was not to come to Miami however, but to fly to his native Paris.

Halle did have her leading man Morris Chestnut to keep her company on the carpet.
And, he certainly did not show up his casually dressed co-star, as while the Boyz In The Hood actor did don a shirt and tie he combined it with jeans and sneakers for the event.
The pair were spruiking their new thriller The Call which is released March 15 and also stars Abigail Breslin.

There is a lot riding on this film being a success after Halle's last flick, Movie 43, bombed at the box office.
The film, which had an amazing star-studded cast including Hugh Jackman, Emma Stone, Kate Winslet and Richard Gere, was dubbed by one critic as the ‘Citizen Kane of awful.’
