Halle Berry has lost her fight to move daughter Nahla to France, it has been reported.
Halle and Nahla's father Gabriel Aubry attended court on Friday where the judge made the ruling that the four-year-old will stay in the US, according to TMZ.
The star, 46, looked sombre as she left the courtroom in an all-black outfit and stepped into her car, approximately 20 minutes after Gabriel.

The former couple have been embroiled in a custody battle over Nahla for several months.
The Monster's Ball actress wanted to move the youngster to Paris to live with her and her Frenchman fiance Olivier Martinez.
Halle was arguing that Los Angeles was not the ideal place for her daughter to grow up, due to the glare of the paparazzi.

Doting father: Gabriel was retaliating by stating that it would be hard to be a part of the four-year-old's life if she lived thousands of miles away

She has insisted that it was not an attempt to keep Nahla's model father away from her.
But Gabriel was arguing that having his daughter live thousands of miles away would render it extremely difficult for him to remain a part of her life.
Halle spoke out about the situation in a recent interview, where she claimed the move would be in Nahla's best interests.
'It's the appeal of privacy and a greater sense of safety for Nahla,' she told InStyle magazine.

'Because we are followed all the time, she is starting to feel like she is somehow special, and of course she is, but I want her to understand that she's special because of who she is, not because she was born into this celebrity blender.'
Halle also made a rare comment about her custody battle with Gabriel.
'There is turbulence, but this too shall pass,' she said.
Halle and Gabriel split in April 2010 after more than four years of dating, and she soon began a relationship with actor Olivier. They confirmed their engagement in March.

Just in case Halle reads this, I want to apologize to her on behalf of all Germans for the TV show "Wetten, dass" that she attended in my hometown of Bremen, Germany on Nov 3.

The show is much too long (three hours) and features people who do stupid tricks (like identifying a thousand different nail polishes correctly) and it features a number of german Comedians who are more embarassing that funny.

And when you don't speak German, it must be even worse. While the international guests have a translator who speaks to them via earphone, they cannot translate the meaning of the stupid jokes or convey who the strange people are that are with them.

I admire Halle for sitting through all that for three hours and not losing her patience.

Her gamine crop has become something of a trademark over the years, but Halle Berry - who has accepted an Oscar and played a Bond girl with the short locks is nothing if not versatile.
So prepare to see the 46-year-old actress as you've never seen her before... because her scintillating shoot for Germany's Interview magazine really is a thing of wonder.

The mother-of-one, who has designs on moving to Europe (in her case France), looks incredible with a huge afro in a eccentric ensemble for the magazine.
With an obvious '70s feel to it, the shot is screamingly flamboyant compared to the actress's normal style, but she looks brilliant.

The Diana Ross-esque look is for the November issue of Interview magazine.
The publication has released two versions of the cover, which sees the mother of four-year-old Nahla also sporting the big hair.
One cover features the Cloud Atlas star - who is engaged to French actor Olivier Martinez - in colour, while the other is a black & white photo.
Berry has been making the rounds at various events, talk shows and premieres, in an effort to promote her new film with Tom Hanks.
The Hollywood star shares her daughter with French-Canadian model Gabriel Aubry.
The former couple announced their separation in April 2010 and Gabriel filed documents with the Los Angeles Superior Court later that year asking for formal recognition of his paternity and for the court to grant him legal and physical custody of their child.
During an interview on German chat show Wetten dass...? on Saturday, Halle revealed she's happy that she waited to have Nahla: 'I'm a much better mother at 46... than if I were like, 21 or 25.
'[At that age] I was just a little baby just trying to figure out who I was, let alone having the responsibility of trying to help another little soul develop and grow. I'm so glad I waited.'

Halle Berry has worn some daring costumes for the different premiere outings of her new blockbuster movie Cloud Atlas.
However, she opted for a stylish and elegant look at the German premiere of the film.
Halle wore a navy dress with strappy heels as she posed on the red carpet at the glitzy event in Berlin on Monday.

The 46-year-old actress kept it simple for the latest premiere - a far cry from recent red carpet outfits for the film.

She wore a daring black leather frock with sheer gauze panels for the Russian premiere earlier this month - while the Hollywood premiere of the epic movie in September saw her wear a short metallic lace bodice frock.
She looked stunning as ever on Monday night, and even showed off some leg as she posed on the red carpet.

The film sees Berry play different characters that bypass ethnic and gender lines - from an aged Korean man to a German-Jewish woman.
She told Entertainment Weekly that her four-year-old daughter Nahla was horrified to see her mother in character.

Berry also added in a recent interview that she loves her cropped cut - saying: 'When I have my short, short hair, that’s when I’m my best self. But hair doesn’t define me. It’s just an accessory that I get to wear, like a handbag or shoes.'
Her Cloud Atlas co-star Tom Hanks also turned up at the event, looking stylish while wearing a suit and displaying a mustache.
Directed by Tom Tykwer, Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski, Cloud Atlas tells how actions from individual lives can impact one another in the past, present and the future.
