Epic transformation: Halle Berry plays a white woman in new film
Halle's many faces: Watch the Cloud Atlas trailer below.
If you bumped into this woman in the street, you would never think it's Halle Berry.
But the 46-year-old Monster's Ball Oscar winner has pulled off an astonishing on-screen transformation in her mind-bending new sci-fi fantasy drama Cloud Atlas.
In the first picture released of Halle in disguise, the African-American actress is unrecognisable as a white Jewish woman from the 1930s, a composer's wife named Jocasta Ayrs.
She also morphs into two other characters: Luisa Rey, a journalist from the 1970s, and Meronym, a tribal survivor in the post-apocalyptic distant future.
From The Matrix directors Andy and Lana Wachowski, based on David Mitchell novel of the same name, Cloud Atlas sees Halle, Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant and Hugo Weaving playing multiple characters across narratives that criss-cross through time.
According to the IMDB synopsis, the film shows "how the actions of individual lives impact one another in the past, present and future, as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and an act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution."
Just in case that wasn't trippy enough, get a load of these two Hollywood greats playing against type: Tom Hanks as a London gangster and Hugh Grant as a cannibal (a marked departure from his usual roles as resident lady-killer).

Hey there, handsome!
