She may, on paper, have turned 50 this month.

But Halle Berry's body could arouse envy in a woman half her age.

On Tuesday, the erstwhile Bond girl posted an Instagram photo from a seaside photoshoot, baring her taut abs and showstopping legs in a sparse black bikini.

Leaning back against a pillar, she lifted her arms to bundle her hair over her head in such a way as to throw a shadow on most of her face. A mischievous smile, though, was still visible.

Black netting spiderwebbed across her cleavage and the detailing featured on her bikini bottoms too.

The Academy Award winner bent her pencil thin left leg halfway across the right, emphasising its length and slenderness in the photo she captioned: 'BTS on my last shoot of the summer'.

On her actual birthday, 14 August, she'd posted a photo of herself in nothing but a floral lacy white shawl, spreading her arms serenely as it draped her impossibly svelte physique.

The mother of two captioned it: 'With open arms I welcome 50... I'm so blessed to be here!'

A week later, she told USA Today that 'people have said to me, "You’re turning 50. Oh, God. How does that make you feel?" Well, I feel great. I’ve never been defined by a number or my age. And I’ve never felt better.'

In a possible preemptive reference to the bikini post, she said: 'This whole year is going to be about 50. My Instagram is going to be blown up with what 50 looks like, feels like, thinks like. It’s going to be a "50 year" for me and I cannot wait.'

On Monday, she refurbished in her Bond girl credentials in the new trailer for Kevin Hart's forthcoming stand-up special/comedy film, Kevin Hart: What Now?

His performance for a 50,000-strong audience in Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field is preceded by a takeoff on spy movies detailing how he got to the stage.

In one sequence, the tuxedo-clad comedian finds himself in a brutal knife fight, during which Berry, coiffed and glamorous, does nothing.

When he upbraids her for neglecting to involve herself and get 'messed up,' she deadpans: 'Kevin, I'm Halle Berry. I don't get messed up.' To which the 37-year-old retorts: 'That's some Halle Bulls***.'

Kevin Hart: What Now? opens in the United States 14 October.

Just a few days ago she was sitting on the beach, now it is back to the daily grind of an actor.

Halle Berry was spotted out and about in West Hollywood, California, on Monday popping into a costume design showroom.

The 49-year-old star made getting back to work look easy, despite a rather enviable vacation just a few days earlier.

Halle looked effortlessly stylish as she left Bill Hargate Costumes - who are responsible for creating some of Hollywood's best superhero outfits.

The Mobster's Ball star wore a loose-fit tie-dye T-shirt with a pair of distressed jeans and slip-on sandals.

Obviously there for a fitting for a mystery upcoming project, the star kept her head down as she left the studio and made a phone call on her way to her car.

The Oscar winner was solo and without her children, Maceo, two, and daughter Nahla, eight, for a change.

The family, along with Halle's ex Oliver Martinez, were just in Mexico on holiday last week where Halle and Oliver looked more than just friendly exes.

Halle was seen lounging next to the actor with her hand on his bare chest and right over his heart while he gazed back at her adoringly.

While neither have commented on whether their relationship status has changed since when they announced they were getting a divorce late last year, People have revealed that the French star is not ready to give up on their marriage.

A source told the magazine: 'If Halle wants to call [the divorce] off, Olivier would be fine with it because he never wanted the divorce in the first place.'

A second source reiterated that point with People: 'When they first filed for divorce [last October], things were not good. However, the anger went away and Olivier is just very upset about the divorce. He never wanted the divorce and still doesn't.'

But before fans get too excited about a reconciliation, yet another source told the magazine nothing has changed and 'as always they are friends'.

On Monday, the actress declared the couple's son Maceo as her Monday Man Crush and not her estranged husband.

Posting a picture of her son's tiny shoes on her new Instagram account, Halle said: '[Love] my little #MCM.'

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez might be getting divorced, but it is clear there is still a lot of love there.

The exes looked very friendly as they basked on a beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico during a family vacation with their two-year-old son Maceo and her daughter Nahla, eight.

Halle was seen lounging next to the French actor with her hand on his bare chest and right over his heart, a soft smile forming on her face while he gazed back at her adoringly.

The breeze rustled through her hair which she wore pulled back in a loose ponytail.

She sat upright, hugging their little boy close to her chest and staring off to sea through tinted shades.

The actress had wrapped Maceo in her soft beige robe and only his bare feet stuck out from the folds.

Later she sat in her black swimsuit, smiling as she watched over her daughter playing in the surf.

Olivier wore camouflage swim trunks and shades as he lay back against the lounge chair in total relaxation.

The look he gave Halle might have given the impression that these two aren't quite finished.

TMZ, however, reports that Halle fully intends to end their marriage and proceed as planned with the divorce.

It's clear that the Monster's Ball star holds a special place in her own heart for Olivier.

At another point during the sun-basking afternoon, Olivier walked up to Halle and leaned over her as though presenting his cheek for her to kiss.

She was smiling and listening thoughtfully to something he was saying, and he in turn seemed to be in the best of moods.

The pair filed for divorce in October 2015 after two years of marriage, citing 'irreconcilable differences.'

In a joint statement they announced their divorce via People, saying: 'It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce.'

Halle and Olivier are both seeking joint custody of their son Maceo, and no doubt want to avoid the drama that ensued between the actress and her older daughter Nahla's father, Gabriel Aubry.

'I'm doing okay, I really am,' Halle told Extra in November at an event to benefit a domestic abuse facility in Los Angeles.

'I keep pushing and I'm really happy to be here because whenever you're going through anything in life, when you step outside yourself and focus on others, that's always the best remedy for any situation that you'd rather not be dealing with.'
