Halle Berry, Gwen Stefani Celebrate Tod's Renovation
Halle Berry, Gwen Stefani Celebrate Tod's Renovation
by WWD Staff
Posted Friday April 16, 2010
The art and fashion worlds collided Thursday night when Diego Della Valle hosted a dual-purpose party at Tod’s Rodeo Drive boutique in honor of the store’s renovation and Jeffrey Deitch’s new gig as director of Los Angeles’ Museum of Contemporary Art. In the stylish celebrity corner, there were Gwen Stefani, Halle Berry, Jessica Alba, Marisa Tomei and Kate Bosworth. Representing the artists were Catherine Opie, Ed Ruscha and Aaron Young.
The place was so packed that the bar ran out of appropriate glassware early into the evening, which left Derek Lam circulating the bash with a tumbler filled with either Champagne or beer. “I can’t tell [which it is],” he said, eyeing his beverage.
After the cocktail party, a select 100 people continued on to the Tower Bar for dinner. There, each event host — from Kate Beckinsale and Kelly Lynch to Michel Gondry — held court at a separate tables with boldfaced guests like Eli and Edye Broad, Angelica Huston, Eva Chow, Pierce Brosnan, Vanessa Beecroft and Jacqui Getty.
V.V. Brown performed for the crowd, several of whom were unfamiliar with her music. Not Colleen Bell, though. “I go to Coachella with my son,” she said, “so I know all the new acts the kids are listening to.”
As the evening drew to a close, Wolfgang Puck, ever the restaurateur, was thinking about the check.
“Shall I tell them to send you the bill?” he asked Jim Belushi.
“Yes, I’ll take care of it,” Belushi replied. “Then expect to get free shoes for life.” .

Hollywood star Halle Berry makes the most of her delicate elfin features with this gamine crop.
She showed off the newly straightened, razor cut style at the opening of the new Tod's boutiquein Beverly Hills.
We love it Halle! Especially with the quiff.
Get the look by rough drying with a hairdryer, mess it up with wax and keep in place with a some hairspray, try Garnier Fructis Bamboo Flexihold Hairspray. Easy!
