Halle Berry reveals daughter Nahla is only impressed by one thing... her appearance on Sesame Street

'My mommy met Elmo!' Halle Berry reveals daughter Nahla is only impressed by one thing... her appearance on Sesame Street

She's won an Oscar and is one of Hollywood's most respected actresses.
But Halle Berry revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday that as far as her daughter is concerned she is famous for only one reason - meeting Elmo.
The actress said Nahla, four, believes her famous mother is now a permanent fixture on the iconic children's show after Halle appeared on a Sesame Street episode in 2012.
'She watches it all the time on the iPad, and when her friends come over she loves to say "My mommy met Elmo," and then she makes them watch it,' laughed the star.

But Halle didn't take her daughter on set for fear of shattering the illusion that Elmo is more than just a puppet.
'She thinks Elmo lives,' she said.
The talk show host also asked whether her daughter with Gabriel Aubry is aware that her mother is an actress.
'No, she really doesn't know, she thinks that i wear pretty dresses, that that's my job,' said the star.
Halle also revealed her plans for Nahla's birthday.

The 46-year-old actress revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday that the family would be celebrating Nahla's fifth birthday with a 'little pony bowling party' over the weekend.
The actress offered the tidbit while promoting her hit film The Call on the late night talk show.
She defied her years in a short silvery purple dress that hugged her enviable physique in all the right places.

The Catwoman star wore her trademark pixie cut tousled and highlighted her brown eyes with smokey eyeshadow and her glowing complexion with just a touch of peach blusher.
Kimmel immediately brought up the star's daughter, asking what she and fiance Olivier Martinez had planned to celebrate her birthday.
'At five they don't really know what day is the day, so we're having a little pony bowling party,' the star said before she burst out laughing.
'The ponies will not bowl,' she clarified.

The star's new thriller enjoyed a surprisingly strong $17.1 million opening over the weekend.
She plays a 911 operator who takes a call from a teenage girl - played by Abigail Breslin - who has been abducted.
Halle's character is then forced to confront a murderer from her past as a way to save the girl's life.
The actress told Kimmel that she spent a lot of time listening to real live and taped 911 calls to prepare for her role, including a 911 call that she made a few years ago.

'About a year before doing this movie I found myself having to call 911 myself,' the star revealed. 'Somebody was actually trying to break into my property and the scary part for me was I thought he was in my house.
Halle said she couldn't stop talking due to nerves, despite the operator repeatedly telling her to remain silent.
'The operator said, "Be quiet, you've got to stop talking,"' she said, 'and the last thing i could do was stop talking. And I kept talking, and she said, "Ma'am stop talking."'
'My body was on auto nerves pilot,' added the star.

The Monster's Ball actress gave a big smile as she waved to fans outside the studio wearing a sheer black top that was a tad revealing on the bust.
Halle paired the see-through top with slouchy tracksuit pants, which she tucked into a pair cowboy-style Isabel Marant boots.

All Hail the Bond Girls—And Their New Nail Polish Collection

All Hail the Bond Girls—And Their New Nail Polish Collection! - Stylebistro

Halle Berry, Olga Kurylenko, Rosamund Pike, Berenice Marlohe, Gemma Arterton (Getty, PacificCoastNews, Bauer Griffin)Cue Adele's Skyfall(looped on repeat, naturally) and cut to the chases. There's yet another beauty tribute going out the James Bond film franchise. More noteably, to the spy guy's ladyfriends — the Bond girls!

Today, OPI announced its launching a six-piece collection of Liquid Sand lacquers — only a daring finish could do for such dangerous ladies, right? — in honor of the franchise's 50-year anniversary. (They're perhaps just a wee bit late, even in the fashionable sense, on the celebration, but hey, we're not complaining!)

The textured matte-finish colors, named after some of the baddest Bond girls in the bunch, are drumroll omnious music, please...

(Above L-R): Vesper, a mysterious and intriguing deep purple; Solitaire, an diamond-sparkling white; Pussy Galore (they had to...), a light feminine pink with shimmer. (Below L-R): Tiffany Case, a classic light blue worth investigating; Jinx, a mesmerizing matte coral with a lucky sparkle; and Honey Ryder, a shimmery gold.

The collection will hit stores in May 2013 for $9 a bottle — but let's be honest, you really can't put a price on Bond girl glamour, can you?

Halle Berry Rocks a New '70s Look. Is the afro making a comeback?

Halle Berry Rocks a New '70s Look
Is the afro making a comeback?

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013 at 4:38 pm | Liz Dunphey

interviewrussia.ru
For a recent Russia Interview magazine, Halle Berry rocked a 70’s inspired wardrobe akin to Diana Ross in Mahogany. And in her new movie, The Call, where she plays a 911 caller on the hunt for a serial killer, Halle wears a funky, curly afro, that is also vaguely '70s. What gives? We know Marc Jacobs, as far back as 2010, sent Louis Vuitton models down the runway in ruffled baby doll dresses and curly afro wigs. Is the afro making a comeback?
It has long roots in America—Angela Davis, the brilliant radical at Berkley sported it first, making it grand and beautiful to hippies. Remember The Way We Were? Barbara Streisand and her communist afro were perfect. Sure, she straightened it for part of the movie, playing the good Hollywood girl, and lost Robert Redford—but in the end, she returned to the afro, and she sang a really great song (drawing a tear from all of us).
Halle is known for her short pixie hair cuts, flawless beauty, and brightly colored dresses. She tends towards the conservative look. And of course, she always looks “Halle Berry gorgeous” on the red carpet. Yet her new afro look in the thriller The Call is much hipper. It is a new edgy move, and a great look. It keeps us on our feet, just like her characters, and she pulls it off, with elegance, toughness, and panache. Time will only tell, whether girls will be scampering to imitate this look, like they once did with Rachel on Friends. But it's a brave look, and kudos for Halle and her new movie for attempting to pull it off.
Check out The Call movie still below to see Halle's 70s-inspired.

Halle Berry on 'The Call': 'This is my kind of movie'

Halle Berry on 'The Call': 'This is my kind of movie'- Digital Spy

Halle Berry has suggested that her new thriller The Call is her favourite kind of movie.

Berry stars in The Call as an emergency dispatcher who becomes embroiled in the manhunt for a serial killer.

In an interview with Flicks and Bits, the actress teased that she was truly frightened by her latest film's twists and turns.

"Right away when I read the script I knew it was something that I related to. I love this genre of film," Berry said. "I love suspense, I love thrillers, I like to be a little bit scared."

The Oscar winner continued: "[I] also [love] films with a cerebral content to it, as well. So this was right up my alley… I thought it was such a great role for a woman to play.

"At first she's a bit defeated but then throughout the movie she kind of gets her power back. She's just as much saving herself as she's saving the little girl."

Berry also credited The Call with teaching her about the emotional trauma that 911 operators face on a daily basis.

"I've always wondered who these people are and what they look like," she commented.

"And I think that's one of the elements that makes this movie interesting for people, because as I was talking to friends about the role everyone would be like, 'Who are those people? What kind of training do they have, and how do they stay so calm under such pressure?'

"So it's been kind of nice to put a face to all these people that do this job. This job was so interesting, in getting to speak to the people that I spoke to that do it. It was a little bit of everybody."

Berry stars in The Call with Abigail Breslin, David Otunga and Morris Chestnut.

The Call is now playing in the US. Watch a trailer below:
