Halle Berry is looking for a fresh start.
The actress, 45, and fiance OlivierMartinez, 46, have been checking out kindergartens for daughter Nahla (with ex Gabriel Aubry) in Paris, several insiders confirm to Us Weekly.
"Halle wants somewhere to care for Nahla," a source close to Martinez explains. "She wants to escape the paparazzi in L.A."

Ironically, the future spouses were photographed pulling up at a branch of the Ateliers de la Petite Enfance in the City of Lights. "They strolled inside and spend around 30 minutes chatting with teachers," an onlooker tells Us.

Should Berry decide to enroll her 4-year-old daughter at the EPA, a spokesman for the school tells Us: "Here, the door is always open. . .We provide emotional security for all the kids, as well as early learning. The kids stay until lunchtime, or else until mid-afternoon, when they are collected."
The cost of full-time enrollment is about 1,100 Euros a month -- roughly $1,451.89 in U.S. currency. "Nahla's education is a priority for both of them," a Martinez pal says. "They want to give her a European education."
French actor-turned-restaurateur Martinez is "very keen" to settle in the city he was born and raised, a close pal adds. "He would absolutely love Halle to be over here full-time. That way they could all be a proper family once the wedding is over."

As Us exclusively reported in January, the Dark Tides costars got engaged over the holidays.
Martinez hired Paris-based Lebanese jeweler Robert Mazlo, whose shop is located in his own Saint-Germain-des-Pres neighborhood, to custom design Berry's engagement ring. "Olivier was absolutely delighted with the result," a source saud of the "stunning" bauble, worth "well into the five figures."

Dark Tide trailer: will Halle Berry sink or swim?

Dark Tide trailer: will Halle Berry sink or swim?

The Oscar winner will have to act her socks off to get noticed in John Stockwell's shark and seal-infested adventure. Could her bikini save her? Find out here

John Stockwell might be best known for playing Cougar in Top Gun, but he's carved out a secondary career as a director of very specialist films. It was Stockwell who brought us Blue Crush, the film where Kate Bosworth wore a bikini and splashed around in the sea. He also brought us Into the Blue, the film where Jessica Alba wore a bikini and splashed around in the sea.
But John Stockwell's newest film is something of a departure. It's Dark Tide, a film where Halle Berry wears a bikini and splashes around in the sea – but it doesn't have the word "blue" in the title. But what does Dark Tide have to offer us? And what actually happens in it? Let's see what the Dark Tide trailer has to say.
Dark Tide trailer 11) Here's Halle Berry several years ago. Before James Bond. Before Monster's Ball. She's running a diving company off the coast of South Africa and things couldn't be going any better. Why look, she's just about to take a lucky customer down for the dive of his life. This might be tempting fate a little, but I'm confident that nothing could possibly go wrong.
Dark Tide trailer 22) Unless of course one of the divers gets eaten by a shark. Which is what happens. Distraught, and haunted by the memory of some guy getting his head chewed off, Halle Berry decides to give up the shark-diving business for good and head to Hollywood to make her name in the movie business.
Dark Tide trailer 33) Fast forward a decade or so and everything's gone wrong again. Whatever goodwill Halle Berry earned by winning her Oscar for Monster's Ball has gradually been eroded by a series of disappointing film choices. Eventually, she has to accept the inevitable. A shady businessman offers her a life-changing proposition – he'll give her a pile of money, but with a condition. Not only must she go back on her promise never to shark-dive again, but she has to make a film about it. Reluctantly, Halle Berry agrees.
Dark Tide trailer 44) At first, it all goes well. Halle even convinces the businessman to write her into the script as a kind of shark whisperer – a woman so spiritually attuned to the ocean that she can pacify sharks just by gazing at them with her big brown eyes. The Academy loves this sort of thing. Maybe if there's an evocative enough score to accompany scenes like this, she might be able to resuscitate her acting career for good.
Dark Tide trailer 55) However, there's a chance that all of Halle's acting and profound facial expression might be undone by the footage of the sharks. Look at this one, arcing through the air as it snatches its prey from the watery depths. In a film like this, the brutal majesty of the sharks are always going to receive top billing. If Halle Berry wants to be noticed in this movie, she's going to have to act her socks off.
Dark Tide trailer 66) Or, you know, she could just slowly unzip herself out of a wetsuit while a large caption reminds everyone that she won an Oscar once. That's more or less the same as acting, right?
Dark Tide trailer 77) And now even the seals are sticking their noses in. It's one thing to compete for top billing with a cold, dead-eyed shark – but with a seal? With an adorably inquisitive seal? Halle Berry's looking at third billing at this rate. At least Olivier Martinez is also in this film, otherwise she might find herself dead last. Agreeing to make Dark Tide was the worst career move she could have ever made. Time for something drastic.
Dark Tide trailer 88) Halle Berry locks herself in a metal cage and throws herself overboard. It was either that or make Catwoman 2, and a woman's got to have some dignity.

They have just confirmed their engagement. And where else to shout their love from the rooftops than Paris?

Halle Berry, 45, and Olivier Martinez were pictured strolling hand in hand through the romantic city over the weekend.

The couple strolled along the Left Bank and around the Jardin du Luxembourg park.

The celebrity duo easily blended in with other tourists and sunseekers in the park at lunch time in their low-key outfits and dark sunglasses.

Olivier talked on his phone while his gorgeous fiancée snapped pictures on her camera.

The French actor was showing Halle around his hometown, and played tour guide while she soaked up the sights.

It looked like a blissful break for the engaged couple, miles away from the bitter and ongoing fight between Halle and her ex Gabriel Aubry over custody of their daughter Nahla.

RadarOnline.com reports a source close to the Canadian model as saying: 'Gabriel fears that Halle's ultimate plan is to get him out of his daughter's life, permanently.'

'He believes the plan is for Halle to move to France with Nahla and then have Olivier adopt her as his own. She wants a 'fresh start' apparently.

'It all makes sense now, the allegations of mistreatment and abuse, the slurs against Gabe in the press.

'The fight to strip him of custody, he believes it's all part of a bigger plan to make him appear like an unfit father and get rid of him for good.

'It's not happening though. Gabe will fight tooth and nail to retain custody of Nahla.
'He loves that little girl and is determined to always be a part of her life and always be her father.

'Just because Halle is through with him doesn't mean she can shut him out of her daughter's life too. Gabe may not have Halle's money or power but he will not just lie down and take it.'

The actress recently replaced her long serving lawyer, Neil Hersch, for legal heavyweight, Stephen Kolodny, to fight for permission to move her daughter - who turns four at the weekend - permanently to France, something Gabriel is vehemently against.

Abuse allegations against Aubry were dismissed, and Radar contend that has made it known that if he is hauled into court again over unfounded claims, he will sue Berry. Their insider told them: 'It's been pretty nasty so far, but it's going to get a LOT nastier!'

'Gabriel is ready to fight and if Halle wants to fight dirty then as far as he is concerned she can bring it on. He will match her punch for punch, slur for slur. His relationship with his daughter is at stake and he will do ANYTHING to protect that.'
