Iconic buildings in Edinburgh will feature in a Hollywood movie filming in the capital this week.
Scenes for Cloud Atlas have already been shot in Glasgow and the cast and crew are shifting to the east coast for the next seven days.
The film stars Halle Berry and Tom Hanks and is based on David Mitchell’s novel.
On Friday, the City Chambers on the Royal Mile will be used as the set for the filming, standing in for a London hotel. It is understood an actor will climb down the side of the council building before running off.
Various parts of the city will be used by the crew over the coming week, with the Scott Monument also thought to be given a starring role.
It is not the first time Edinburgh has provided the back-drop for Hollywood films, with recent release One Day starring Anne Hathaway filming in the city last year. Black comedy Burke and Hare was also shot in the city.

We've seen her dodging gunfire and almost being hit by a car on the set of her new movie.
But it appears it was a simple misstep which saw Halle Berry break her foot while relaxing on a day off on the island of Mallorca, Spain.
The 44-year-old actress is currently filming Globe Atlas and was last week seen in Glasgow racing around a street, doing her own stunts in an action scene.

Filming has now moved to Spain and Halle was spotted yesterday being pushed in a wheelchair by a doctor with her right foot in a cast and propped up in front of her.
TMZ reported: 'She heard a crack and then felt the pain. Halle went to the hospital, where doctors put her foot in a cast. She was taken out of the hospital in a wheelchair.'
The accident has put her film bosses in a spin, with sources saying they plan to shoot around her injury by shooting her from the waist up and use a stunt double.

'Production has adjusted their schedule and will continue filming.'
Halle is among an ensemble cast starring in the big-screen adaptation of David Mitchell's novel Cloud Atlas - a collection of six different stories set between the 19th century to the post-apocalyptic future.
