Halle Berry has broken her foot while in Spain.

The actress injured herself after a misstep on the property where she staying, the Daily Mail reports.

It is understood that she was taken to hospital where her foot was put in a cast, and later left in a wheelchair.

Halle is in the country working on her latest film, Cloud Atlas.

She was recently spotted shooting an action scene in Glasgow wearing Seventies style clothing (pictured).

Her accident has caused something of a predicament for film bosses.

But sources say they plan to shoot around her injury by shooting from the waist up and suing a stunt double.

Cloud Atlas is an adaptation of David Mitchell's 2004 novel – a collection of six stories set between the 19th century and a post-apocalyptic future.

Halle stars as a journalist investigating allegation of corruption and murder at a nuclear power plant.

Tom Hanks, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant, Jim Sturgess and Hugo Weaving also star in the ensemble cast.

We've seen her dodging gunfire and almost being hit by a car on the set of her new movie.
But it appears it was a simple misstep which saw Halle Berry break her foot while relaxing on a day off on the island of Mallorca, Spain.
The 44-year-old actress is currently filming Globe Atlas and was last week seen in Glasgow racing around a street, doing her own stunts in an action scene.
