Halle Berry looked like a woman half of her age in a daring red dress at last night's 13th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards.

The actress looked stunning in the Elie Saab Haute Couture gown at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

Halle looked glowing in the dress that had a plunging neckline and was cinched in at the waist before flowing to the grown in a flurry of chiffon and lace which gave a peek of her legs underneath.

The 44-year-old Oscar-winner received the Lacoste Spotlight Award in recognition of her professional excellence and appreciation of the importance of costume design.

Halle had dropped out of the Valentine's Day sequel New Year's Eve because of her bitter custody battle with ex-partner Gabriel Aubry.

But The Hollywood Reporter has reported that she has now rejoined the cast.

A judge has given Halle permission to travel with her two-year-old daughter Nahla to New York City to shoot the film.

Katherine Heigl had jumped into her shoes at short notice and replaced her, but Halle is now going to play a different role in the film.

The star-studded gala was hosted by Sex and the City star Kristin Davis. She looked very princess-like in a black and white polka-dot gown with a black satin side bow.

The actress wore little else in the way of accessories and let the dress speak for itself.

Actress Ginnifer Goodwin donned a black and gold dress to the gala and with her pixie hair cut and minimal jewellery she looked stunning.

Fellow actress Claire Danes looked elegant and chic in a grey mini dress with an embellished front and slicked back hair. She was joined by her actor husband Hugh Dancy.

Comedienne Kathy Griffin did not look fashion forward on the red carpet at all.

Her odd-length floral dress did nothing to showcase her svelte figure and actually made her look matronly.

Secretariat star Diane Lane went for the 1920s flapper style in a silvery-blue flapper dress with a pointed hemline.

House star Lisa Edelstein looked vamped up in a gunmetal grey fitted dress that dipped very low in the front. Her sexy black peep-toe shoes were the perfect footwear for her outfit.

British TV presenter and E! style guru Louise Roe looked like she had just walked off of the catwalk in a peach and cream ensemble that was unique and interesting.
