She fought long and hard to get there, so it is little wonder Halle Berry had a look of satisfaction on her face as she arrived to film scenes for New Year's Eve yesterday.
The 44-year-old actress, who won a court bid to take her daughter with her on location, stepped out on the New York set dressed up blue scrubs, a cream coat and aviator sunglasses.
As the star got to work in Queens, her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry looked after three-year-old Nahla, taking her on a tour of the city.

A judge ultimately decided that Gabriel knew what he was getting into when he became involved with an A-List actress and ruled against him.
She is now putting Gabriel up in an exclusive hotel in Midtown, New York while he looks after their child, according to TMZ.
Katherine Heigl took over the part, but Halle re-joined the cast last month after taking on a smaller role.

Bundled up against the New York winter, the youngster looked relaxed and happy in her father's company.
She wore an adorable pink hat, jeans and beige jacket with a purple and white scarf wrapped around her neck.
Halle told reporters: ‘I'm sure she won't like everything I've done but I hope she appreciates it.’
‘I hope she will appreciate that I dared to be myself and always did what I believed in. I hope to pass those qualities on to her.’
She added: ‘I hope she's proud of me.’
‘I wouldn't say that (parenting) is the hardest work I do. I would say it's the best work I do.’
And Halle said she would give up her award-winning career in an instant to focus on motherhood.
'I love making movies but I would give it all up to be with my daughter if I had to because she's the love of my life', Halle said.
