She is known to be a doting mother to her young daughter Nahla.
But in her new film New Year's Eve, Halle Berry takes on the role with some different kind of care.
The 45-year-old actress plays a Manhattan-based nurse in director Garry Marshall's follow-up to his 2010 film Valentine's Day.
In new stills for the movie, the actress is seen wearing blue scrubs and a stethoscope around her neck as she looks after her co-star Robert De Niro, who plays Harry Buckingam, a man dying in her hospital.

Halle was initially slated to play a different role in the ensemble romantic comedy, but pulled out to focus on the custody battle for her daughter, Nahla.
She rejoined the cast in February after a judge ruled that she was free to travel with the three-year-old.
The part she was originally supposed to play, a caterer forced to work on December 31, went to Katherine Heigl, instead.

The movie itself is a star-studded project celebrating love, hope, forgiveness, second chances and fresh starts.
It is set in modern-day New York City with a variety of intertwining love stories.
33-year-old Heigl must decide whether or not to give her ex, Jon Bon Jovi, another chance.
Michelle Pfeiffer stars as a frustrated executive secretary who decides to tackle her unfulfilled resolutions with the help of Zac Efron's bike messenger.
Jessica Biel, 29, is Tess, a pregnant woman due to give birth on New Year's Day; Saturday Night Live actor Seth Meyers plays her husband.
DeNiro's drama: The Oscar-winning actress takes care of Robert DeNiro character, a man who is dying her hospital
Heigl's Life As We Know It co-star Josh Duhamel is Sam Ricker, a businessman trying to get to New York City to reunite with his love interest from the previous year's night of revelry.
The recently separated Ashton Kutcher plays Randy, a man who's stuck in an elevator with Lea Michele.
Both the 25-year-old Glee starlet and Bon Jovi, 49, will sing in the film.
The cast is rounded out by Carla Gugino, Sienna Miller, Alyssa Milano, Sarah Jessica Parker, Abigail Breslin, Ryan Seacrest, Hilary Swank and Sofia Vergara.
It hits American theatres on December 9.
