Halle Berry Engagement Ring Features Mystery Code
Following news of and Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez's engagement - something that has been suspected for weeks - details are now coming about the ring that the French actor has lavished upon the Academy Award winner. People Magazine reports that Robert Mazlo, Paris neighbour of Martinez, was commissioned to design the ring, and he told the magazine that at first he didn't realise he was creating an engagement ring, only finding out when his pal came calling and stating that he was "was very touched to be involved in [the couple's] story."
Talking of the ring itself, Mazlo described it as "a one-of-a-kind piece and cannot be replaced." The emerald ring has a yellow-gold setting which was hand forged and, instead of an inscription, the piece contains codes and symbols that only its wearer can understand, and Mazlo explained that its 4-carat emerald comes from old, "closed-down mines in Muzo, Colombia and the color is perfect," continuing "The balance between the blue and the yellow in the green in that stone is perfect."
