And even Oscar winners aren't exempt - as Halle Berry discovered to her peril when she parked in Los Angeles on Saturday.
The 49-year-old actress returned to her vehicle with husband Olivier Martinez to find she had received a parking ticket.

The Monster's Ball star frowned as she collected the fine, clutching it in her hand along with her snakeskin wallet.
She had stepped out dressed down alongside her husband of two years - with whom she has a son, 2-year-old Maceo.
The X-Men: Days of Future Past actress was make-up free, covering her eyes with dark glasses, and pulled her messy hair into a loose ponytail with tendrils framing her visage.

It's not clear exactly what she had done to incur the fine, as she was apparently parked in a metered bay but it's possible that she had exceeded her allotted time.

The star is also mother to daughter Nahla, 8, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.
She's most recently been filming action thriller Kidnap, about a mother who tries to find her abducted son.
