'I have felt guilty': Halle Berry, 50, reveals she has experienced 'anguish' about divorces from Olivier Martinez, Eric Benet and David Justice

Halle Berry has been divorced three times.

But the Catwoman star does not take those failures lightly.

During Q&A at the 2017 City Summit and Gala at the USC Tower in Los Angeles on Saturday, the 50-year-old beauty touched on her three divorces, revealing she has felt 'guilty' about them, according to Entertainment Tonight.

'I’ve often felt guilty and responsible. I’ve suffered a lot of pain and anguish,' said the Oscar winner.

Her three exes are actor Olivier Martinez (2013–2016), singer Eric Benét (2001–2005), and baseball player David Justice (1992–1997).

The Elle cover girl - who was a keynote speaker about the event - said: 'I have learned to deal with three failed marriages, which has not been easy, especially when there’s children involved.'

She has two kids: Nahla, eight (from boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, who she never wed), and Maceo, three (from Olivier).

'[As] women, we go into marriage thinking it’s going to last forever and that this is our prince on a shiny horse. That’s what fairy tales taught me as a kid … and I’m kind of anti–fairy tales today.'

She added that when the split happens 'it feels like a huge failure and a huge disappointment.'

But there has been an upside.

'In every one of those situations, as hard — and sometimes embarrassing — as it was, I learned so much about myself,' she said.

'All of those relationships were necessary for me. We all come here with lessons that we have to learn, and those relationships provided me with lessons that got me to where I am right now. For that, I’m grateful. But it has been hard. It’s been a difficult part of my life.'

The star is heavily involved with the Jenesse Center, a domestic-violence prevention program, which she also discussed at the event.

The Catwoman star wore a pretty black dress and decorated heels that made the most of her 5ft5in frame.

The dress was unusual because it waved around her knees.

The Extant actress added on a pair of red and black strapped shoes that flaunted her unique style at events.

Carrying herself well with plenty of confidence, the mother of two wore a silver bracelet as she smiled for the cameras.

The star kept her dark hair curly and big with her locks flowing down.

She appeared to be in positive spirits as she attended the event that helps raise funds for awareness and charities.

Other celebrities who were scheduled to show up include Anthony Mackie, John Travolta and Quincy Jones.

Halle remains to be incredible shape, but that doesn't come easily for her.

She told LA Times in August 2015 that she's had to take more caution in staying healthy.

'I am more conscious of what I eat,' she said. 'I have never worked out with a lot of weights unless I had to for a film role.'

'Left to my own devices, I just do cardio,' the X-Men star added.

'I do exercises that involve my own body weight because I never want to get too muscly. I am diabetic, so exercising has always been a part of managing my disease and keeping my sugars under control.'

Halle's next film is called Kidnap where she plays a mom whose son gets snatched away by a driver.

She then goes on a wild goose chase to rescue him causing more chaos along the way.

The film hits theaters on March 10.

While Halle Berry is gearing up for another nasty fight in divorce court her first husband, former baseball star David Justice has come out swinging - hoping to finally clear his name and point the finger at the man who really abused her so many years ago.

Justice, who was married to Halle from 1993 to 1997 is still angry about the rumors that he cheated on her and was so abusive he caused permanent hearing loss in her left ear, tweeted several messages last night.

And in an exclusive interview with Daily Mail Online he explains why he felt compelled to speak up.

'I had to say something after reading about Halle's recent marriage,' he said.

'So many years ago, I didn't say anything about the accusations that I abused her, but now I have three children, ages, 15, 13 and 11, two boys and one girl, and they can read this stuff and they have friends who will read it as well so I had to finally come out and say once and for all I never hit Halle Berry.

'Back then it didn't matter, but it's different now,' he tells Daily Mail Online. 'Halle never said I hit her but she never said I didn't either, which was disappointing.

'Let me tell you something, I was raised by a single mother and I love and respect her dearly, I would never hit a woman. Never. So, now I have said all that I am going to say on the subject,

'I am not the face of Halle Berry's exes, I won't be going on TV to talk about this. I just wanted to make sure my wife, my children and the rest of my family, friends and fans know the truth.

'But one more thing...people in Hollywood knew the truth then but no one spoke up on my behalf. Again, disappointing, but that was 20 years ago and I won't be doing anymore tweeting on the subject. I have said what I needed to say so now, I'm done.'

Justice began:

'Reading the latest Halle Berry Reports, it wasn't me who hit Halle causing the ear damage. Halle has never said that I hit her.'

A minute later he tweeted:

'It was a former Hollywood boyfriend (WS) that she told me!'.

At 6:44 p.m. Justice added:

'When she first reported that she had been in abusive relationships, she wouldn't name the 'famous' former boyfriend (WS)...'.

At 6:46 p.m. he threw this accusation at his ex:

'She was mad at me leaving the relationship so she and her Hollywood Team just tried to destroy my character. It had to be my fault, right?'.

Minutes later - Justice insinuated Halle is to blame for all of her love troubles:

'Yup...Me, Eric, Gabriel and Oliver were all her 'Knight in Shinging Armor, until it ends. Then we all become the worst guys in history.'

At 6:52 p.m.:

'Only the guys in the relationship with Halle know the real deal...there will be another, of course. He'll be called 'The Best' until it ends.'

The two minutes later - a bold warning to her soon to be third ex-husband:

'Just wait, Oliver...It's coming! She insinuated that her daughter wasn't safe around Gabriel...look it up and see the reason! Just wrong. smh'.

Justice ended outburst saying:

'It just makes me mad to still see the same lie being perpetuated about the source of her abuse being me. Never happened!'

in 1996, Justice told People Magazine that the relationship wasn't what he bargained for saying, 'she wasn't the same person I was with before we got married.'

He went on to say his wife got mad when he watched ESPN and accused him of cheating whenever she saw a picture of him with a woman who might be standing next to him.

He added that Berry carried a lot of baggage from her previous relationships and always suspicious. 'I've never known a girl who could throw a tantrum like she does.'

Berry publicly admitted that she attempted suicide after her marriage to Justice fell a part.

Justice was one of many failed relationships for the 49-year-old A-list actress.

In the late 80s she dated Chicago dentist John Ronan but was sued by him in 1993 for $80,000 after he claimed he loaned her money to help launch her career.

Berry claimed it was a gift and it was dismissed in court.

In 1991 claims of abuse surfaced after Berry revealed she lost 80% of her hearing in her left ear following a beating from a former boyfriend while she was filming 'The Last Boy Scout'.

Berry has never mentioned the abuser by name but says it was 'someone well known in Hollywood.'

Rumors that the person is Wesley Snipes, were swiftly denied by the actor.

On January 1, 1993 - Berry married Justice. They divorced four years later.

He remarried in 2001 and shares two children with his wife Rebecca Villalobos.

In 2001 after a two-year courtship, Berry tied the knot with R&B singer Eric Benet but divorced four years later after a turbulent time with Benet cheating and entering a facility for sex addiction in 2002.

Four years later, she met and began dating French Canadian model, Gabriel Aubry.

Berry and Aubry have a child together but never married.

The couple has been involved in a high profile custody battle over their daughter, Nahla Ariela Aubry, 7, primarily because Berry wanted to move to France with her then current love Olivier Martinez, from Los Angeles to France.

Berry and Martinez married in France on July 13, 2013 and their son, Maceo Robert Martinez was born three months later, on October 5.

But their Hollywood romance came to a turbulent end.

In a joint statement, Halle and Martinez said: 'It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce.

'We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus for what is best for our son.

'We wish each other nothing but happiness in life, and we hope that you respect our, and most importantly our children's privacy, as we go through this difficult period.'

The marriage had reportedly hit a breaking point - they had been fighting over Martinez's January incident at LAX, where he hit airport employee Ronaldo Owens with a car seat, pushing him to the ground.

Halle and their son were also there.

A $5 million lawsuit was filed mid-October against Halle and Olivier for the attack.
