Halle Berry looks glum in a little black dress amid reports her role of Storm may be re-cast in X-Men: Apocalypse

In mourning? Halle Berry looks glum in a little black dress amid reports her role of Storm may be re-cast in X-Men: Apocalypse

She's played mutant superhero Storm in the last four X-Men films.
And now it appears as Halle Berry won't be in the upcoming sequel X-Men: Apocalypse as producers are looking to re-cast the part with a younger actress.
The gorgeous 48-year-old seemed a bit downcast on Friday, clad in a black dress during a casual afternoon outing with a pal in West Hollywood.

The Extant star kept her head down at times and was joined on her excursion by a female friend.
On Wednesday, writer and produce Simon Kinberg dropped a casting bomb regarding the participation of Halle, Famke Janssen (Jean Grey/Phoenix) and James Marsden (Scott Summers/Cyclops) in the upcoming sequel X-men: Apocalypse.
'If we included some of the original X-Men like Storm and Jean and Scott and others in Apocalypse, yeah, we would have to recast them because Apocalypse takes place a good 20 years before X1, which now insanely was 10 to 15 years ago,' Kinberg told Yahoo Movies.

As far as the difficulty finding appropriate younger actors to play the roles, he added: 'Halle, Famke, and Jimmy and others have done such wonderful jobs of bringing those characters to life. It would be a tall task.'
'But I also would have said before First Class there would have been no way we find actors who could stand alongside Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, but I think we managed to with Michael [Fassbender] and James [McAvoy], finding their own interpretations of the characters, not doing an impersonation.'
Set to be released in 2016, X-Men Apocalypse will still feature original star Hugh Jackman, 45, along with Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence.
