She may have slipped on a smiley face jumper today.

But Halle Berry could barely raise a smile as she stepped out for lunch with her boyfriend Olivier Martinez and daughter Nahla.
The Catwoman star slipped on the oversized orange sweater as the trio dined out in Malibu, California.

The 45-year-old Monster's Ball actress paired her baggy orange top with turned-up jeans and sandals.

Oliver, also 45, meanwhile looked every inch the Gallic gentleman in a trendy leather jacket, jeans, boots and T-shirt.

They even managed to coordinate their ensembles by wearing matching gold aviator sunglasses.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez make time for dinner date while Gabriel Aubry looks after Nahla

When the daughter's away... Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez make time for dinner date while Gabriel Aubry looks after Nahla

Halle Berry loves spending as much time as possible with her adorable daughter Nahla.

But as she is away enjoying some quality time with her father Gabriel Aubry, the Catwoman star took advantage of her freedom by going on a date with her beau Olivier Martinez.

The pair were spotted in West Hollywood today after they enjoyed a slap up holiday meal together.

The pair enjoyed a slap-up meal at posh Italian restaurant Cecconi's, though they both looked surprisingly glum considering they had just enjoyed such a treat.

Halle, 45, looked splendid in a classy grey pullover that kept her warm in the chilly winter weather.

Olivier did not look quite as distinguished in a blue shirt and jeans combo, though he did look chivalrous enough to handle tipping the valet.

Instead of using the passenger door Halle climbed into the car using the driver's side before sliding across into her seat.
Olivier then climbed in after her, took the wheel and drove them away.
The dynamic duo met when they filmed the movie Dark Tide together last year, and their relationship seems to be going from strength to strength. They even spent time together in Spain in September.

Tom Hanks says Cloud Atlas is “going to be a beast”

Tom Hanks says Cloud Atlas is “going to be a beast”

by Liam on November 19, 2011
tom hanks Apart from a few set images in September we haven’t heard or seen much from the movie adaptation of David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas, which is being directed by The Wachowskis (The Matrix) and Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run). Halle Berry broke her foot chasing a goat during the second week of filming, which caused some shooting to be delayed, but the cast have been in Berlin for the past month and will continue shooting at various places around the world until mid-December.
While promoting the DVD and Blu-ray release of Larry Crowne Tom Hanks said Cloud Atlas is a “beast” and is going to be “wild”. He also echoed what Tom Tykwer said earlier this year that it’s essentially a “big-scale adult movie”.
From Flickering Myth:
Boy, that’s going to be a beast. It’s going to be wild. Those guys are geniuses! I admire those guys’ films because they throw deep and long. Those are uncompromising movies that are forcing the audience to go on a very deep and different track. Very adult kind of journey. Quite frankly, I want to be tested like that. Then you match it up with the material of Cloud Atlas, which is pretty spectacular. And the screenplay is off the scale! I just want to be part of something that is much, much bigger than showing up and hitting the marks. I’ve had good experiences of being the guy in a movie, and in huge pieces of commerce, like the Robert Langton movies, and it’s part burden and part challenge. It’s part ‘Let’s just get the friggin’ thing done’, as well as how as artists do we make sure this beat is about something. And that is a little bit about what the Wachowskis are going to demand from Cloud Atlas, of me, and plenty of other people. It’s a big ensemble – so it’s not a vehicle for any one of us that are in it.
The movie, which also stars Hugo Weaving, Keith David, Jim Broadbent, Jim Sturgess, Ben Whishaw, David Gyasi, Hugh Grant, Susan Sarandon, Chinese actress Zhou Xun and South Korea’s Doona Bae, follows six storylines ranging from the South Pacific in the 19th Century to California in the 1970s to a post-apocalyptic future. Most of the cast will be playing multiple characters, and they’ll be swapping race and gender.
No release date has been set for Cloud Atlas, but Warner Bros. is expected to release the movie sometime in late 2012.

Gabriel Aubry and Nahla wear matching outfits on playdate at the park

Like father, like daughter: Gabriel Aubry and Nahla wear matching outfits on playdate at the park

Halle Berry may be her mother, but Nahla Aubry is turning into the spitting image of her father, Gabriel.

The three-year-old enjoyed an afternoon out at Los Angeles' Pan Pacific Park with her model dad today.

The two, who were clad in nearly identical outfits, seemed to have a blast as they romped around the playground.

The 35-year-old model, who has appeared in campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Gianni Versace, was the epitome of hipster cool.
He wore perfectly fitted blue jeans with a plaid shirt, agape enough to reveal the T-shirt underneath.
He accessorised with a grey beanie, two bracelets and trendy boots.
His daughter also wore darling little denim trousers, a purple plaid shirt and little grey trainers to match her handsome father's cap.

She, too, wore a hat, though hers was baseball style and emblazoned with a rainbow and clouds.
Nahla is clearly the apple of Gabriel's eye, as he doted on her throughout the day.
He made sure she was safe at all times, protected by a helmet on her scooter or, when she rode on his shoulders, holding tightly onto her leg.

They even made time for a quick cuddle on a park bench, showing a truly tender moment as he hugged his daughter close.

He wasn't afraid to get hands on, either, kneeling with his little girl as she played in the sandbox or pushing her on a swingset.

The two weren't entirely alone, however: they met up with a mystery woman and her kids during the day; the two even treated the girls to a midday ice cream treat.

Although her identity is not known, it would be only fair that Gabriel should move on, given that his ex is now dating her Dark Tide co-star Olivier Martinez.

The two share legal custody of Nahla, though the 45-year-old Oscar winner won the latest court battle over their daughter.

A Los Angeles judge refused Aubry’s request to rescind a requirement that a nanny be present whenever he has custody of Nahla while the two were in Europe this past October.

Halle Berry's Stalker Gets Court Date - Perez Hilton

Halle Berry's Stalker Gets Court Date

Halle Stalker Court
So, Halle Berry's creeper/stalker has gotten a court date, but the real question is whether or not Halle will be there too.
Richard Franco will be standing trial on Jan. 19th — though, he HAS plead not guilty to the charges… even though he was caught three times within three days trying to sneak onto Halle's property. We don't know about you guys, but that sound super guilty to us. And super creepy.
He could get almost 7 years in prison, so this should be an interesting case to watch!
Glad you're okay, Halle!

Halle Berry's New Year's Eve Body Makeover Workout

Halle Berry's New Year's Eve Body Makeover Workout

halle berry

There is little doubt that Halle Berry has one of the best bods in Hollywood. No matter what role she’s playing or what outfit she’s sporting, one thing’s for sure…it’s impossible not to notice her phenomenal figure (heck, she even makes scrubs look good in her new flick New Years Eve, in theatres now).
If the New Year has you adding a “lean, mean, sexy body of my dreams” to your list of resolutions, then Ramona Braganza just might be your answer.
The celebrity trainer, who also boasts celeb clients like Jessica Alba and Anne Hathaway, trained Berry for three years, five days a week. As a heavily sought-after nutritional and fitness expert, Braganza was responsible for keeping Berry’s bodacious body in tip-top shape both before and after her pregnancy with daughter Nahla.
“Halle is a sweet, caring, genuine person who loves to give her focused attention to whatever she is doing,” Braganza says. “She is hands on and not afraid to get dirty – we once hiked around a lake that required us to do some bouldering and she didn’t mind one bit!"
The first step towards building a Halle Berry body is nutrition and hydration, which according to Braganza, is 50 percent of the equation.
“Eat as frequently as you can so your blood sugar level will not drop,” Braganza advises. “This will keep you from over-eating later."
As for hydration, Braganza recommends VitaminWater Zero Squeezed. “It has the added benefit of eight key nutrients from vitamin a to zinc, and at zero calories per serving it keeps weight-loss goals on track,” she says. “The hydration factor will also keep your metabolism revved up.”
In addition to her expert nutrition advice, all of Braganza’s clients train with her 321 Training Method, a workout that combines intervals of cardio training with intervals of circuit strength and core work.
“Even if you only have a half hour, this workout will not only be a fat burning one, but it will also increase your lean muscle tissue,” Braganza says. “And building muscle allows your body to become more efficient at utilizing the extra calories that you may have stored over the holidays.”
That’s why we were thrilled when Braganza revealed Berry’s workout so we can officially check that “lean, mean, sexy body of our dreams” off our resolution list – like, pronto. Read on for more!

Halle Berry, Tom Hanks & Hugh Grant star in Cloud Atlas (Dir. Tykwer/Wachowski) | Film News

Halle Berry, Tom Hanks & Hugh Grant star in Cloud Atlas (Dir. Tykwer/Wachowski) | Film News

December 10, 2011 by

A a star-filled cast including Oscar winning actress Halle Berry, Tom Hanks, Hugh Grant, Keith David and Jim Sturgess, have been enlisted by German director Tom Tyker [Perfume: The Story of a Murderer, The International] and The Wachowskis [best known for The Matrix] to work on new film Cloud Atlas, due to hit screens late next year.

Based on the British Book Awards Literary Fiction Award winning, Booker Prize nominated novel written by David Mitchell the film synopsis describes Cloud Atlas as, “An epic story of humankind in which the actions and consequences of our lives impact one another throughout the past, present and future as one soul is shaped from a murderer into a savior and a single act of kindness ripples out for centuries to inspire a revolution.”
The multi-storylined film has the actors playing multiple roles. “The biggest change for me as an actor is to have two different film units and two different film crews and to go between the two from one day to the next,” Halle Berry told NYTimes.
She described playing “a Jewish woman in the 1930s” for the third director, Tom Tykwer, then becoming “an old tribal woman” for the Wachowski siblings the next day, and losing track of fellow cast members amid the layers of makeup and costumes.
“Some days I go into the trailer, I’ll be having a conversation — I won’t even know it’s with Hugh Grant until five minutes in,” Ms. Berry said.
Not much has been revealed about whether or not the film will replicate the book in depth or what the film will look like. Having already created a screenplay on the novel, The Wachowskis will surely create a director’s twist to it.
“It looks phantasmagorical,” said Victor Loewy, a seasoned international film distributor who bid on the United Kingdom rights after watching a six-minute clip at the American Film Market in Santa Monica last month. “It’s so unlike anything I’ve seen in 40 years in this business.”
Cloud Atlas expected to hit cinemas in late 2012 will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Looks like a good one.

Q&A: The cast and crew of 'New Year's Eve'

Q and A: The cast and crew of 'New Year's Eve'

By TANYA FLOWERS, Special to The Wave

Whether one is looking to make a wholesale life change, start a new relationship/repair an old one or simply experience a first kiss, one thing is certain: The wee hours before the next set of 365 days brings the dizzying fusion of boundless optimism, out-of-character bravery and plain old hope that makes anything seem possible. Even if it’s just for one night.

It is on this universal axiom of human existence that director Garry Marshall and screenwriter Katherine Fugate have built the ensemble “New Year’s Eve,” a thematic follow-up to their last collaboration, the 2010 hit romantic comedy “Valentine’s Day.” As with that film, an all-star cast of actors (so many of them, in fact, they’re sure to be working for well below their typical fee) brings to life a series of interconnected, emotionally-charged stories set in New York City — mostly exploring how love, determination and regret can often force seemingly common people to show uncommon fortitude and compassion. Among those players: Oscar winners Robert De Niro, Hilary Swank and Halle Berry, along with Michelle Pfeiffer, Jessica Biel, Zac Efron, Seth Meyers, Josh Duhamel, Katherine Heigl, Lea Michele, Jon Bon Jovi, Abigail Breslin, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ashton Kutcher, Sofia Vergara and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges. And it wouldn’t be a Garry Marshall picture without a scene-stealing role for Hector Elizondo.

On a recent Sunday in Beverly Hills, The Wave was on hand as the cast discussed the making of the film. Few of them, it turns out, had a clue what “Auld Lang Syne” means.
Have any of you had a particularly miserable New Year’s Eve experience?
Duhamel: I think that if you keep expectations low …

Swank: Exactly when I stopped wanting my New Year’s Eve to be perfect … [is] when it started working out right. I always found when I was young, I was looking for the best party to be at to ring in the New Year — and I always ended up in the car going [flatly], “Happy New Year.”
Marshall: I got to kiss the girl I really liked, and then she turned around and kissed seven other people. Not a good night at all.

How difficult was it to build so many stories with so many stars with different time requirements?
Marshall: [For] many, this is the first time they’re meeting these stars, because they weren’t in the same scenes … What is pretty startling is [that] they could all act pretty good, it turns out, and so when they showed up … we connected well and we moved along. The biggest thing I had to do was hug them — not because I was so attracted, but because they were freezing. So we all hugged each other a lot.
Who were you excited to meet?

Swank: I have a nice story. I got to work with Robert De Niro — and for me, he is on the bucket list. He is at the top of the list of people I have to work with before it’s all said and done. So I got to check that off. My first two days was with him was the real dramatic stuff and I thought, “Well this isn’t very funny.” … So I go in and Halle Berry and Robert were in the room, and they had been working all morning and they’ve got their thing going, and I am kind of the outsider here — I don’t even know the crew or anything. And … I am just trying to get a sense of the vibe before I work, and I walk in and Robert’s in the bed and you know he is kind of lying there. So you hear all this stuff about Robert De Niro and he’s a [method] actor … and [his character is] dying, so I don’t want to get in anyone’s way. So he was lying there, and I am like, “Wow.” … He is kind of giving it to me, like we are connected here. We are connected. Me and De Niro, method. And so I am getting kind of emotional, but the camera is not on me … we’re just getting into the mood of father-daughter. A father dying, you know … I am feeling it. I am going deep with De Niro. The next thing I know, he’s saying, “Anyone got that coffee ?” I am like, “Oh my God, he was sleeping.” He was gone before I ever got there. He had been in that bed all day.
What is your favorite way to spend New Year’s Eve? And do you have any special plans this year?
Michele: I do the same thing every New Year’s. I have done it for the past seven years now. I am from New York, [so] I did the Times Square thing once and I will never do it again, but New Yorkers have this special spot in Central Park where they do a 5K run the minute the clock strikes 12. I ran once, I will never do it again but it is awesome to watch these people run. It’s such a great environment and place to be — so that’s where I’ll be.

Swank: Well, while Lea is running … I’ll be eating pie and drinking champagne and cheering you on.
Michele: I drink champagne — and that’s why I am not running again, because both of those combined doesn’t work very well.
Swank: I actually … stopped trying to chase the perfect place to be, and realized the perfect place to be is with your loved ones and with your few closest friends, around the dinner table over a good meal, talking about the past year and the year to come. And I never make it to midnight. Ever.
Pfeiffer: I also never make it to midnight. I watch, I celebrate New Years at 9 p.m. west coast time. I watch the ball drop in my jammies with some champagne, maybe some pie — whatever happens to be around. I stopped setting those unrealistic expectations for New Year’s Eve many years ago.
Efron: Yeah, we’re going to change that. You’re coming out with me this year.

Halle to Quit Acting ?

Posted by Adam
HALLE Berry has revealed her New Year’s resolution!
The Oscar winning beauty says she is promising herself to quit acting although it’s unlikely to happen in 2012.
“I think that day is going to come,” says Halle who has a three-year-old daughter with former partner Gabriel Aubrey.
“I want to be home more with my daughter and I have to make different choices as a mother first. I think I can produce more easily and not be in front of the camera and that means I’ll have more time to be with her. I will still be a part of this industry but maybe not so in front of the camera. I might do a film a year or every two years but try to produce more.”

'Yo, yo! It's a Garry Marshall movie!'

Halle Berry is one of the stars of New Year's Eve. AP

'Yo, yo! It's a Garry Marshall movie!'

Hollywood celebs have fun on New Year's Eve

NEW Year's Eve is supposed to be a fun time for everyone. And it apparently was just as enjoyable doing a movie about New Year's Eve.

Directed by Garry Marshall, New Year's Eve (the movie), stars an ensemble cast including Robert De Niro, Katherine Hiegl, Halle Berry, Hilary Swank and Jon Bon Jovi. It's touted as a sequel of sorts to Marshall's previous movie, Valentine's Day, because, like Valentine's Day, it features several vignettes about what goes on in the final hours of the last day of the year.

And the stars apparently did have a fun time on set. For Swank, a plus point was working with Berry - and that she didn't have to die onscreen.

"That's always a plus. I don't have to learn an accent. I don't have to gain or lose weight. I don't have to box. I don't have to pass as a boy! I was kind of at a loss as to what to do with myself. I was like: 'Really? All I have to do is learn lines'?" she said.

"Working with Robert DeNiro and Halle Berry was fun. I know both of them but this is the first time any of us have worked together. (Robert) is very kind and funny. He's got a great smile and he's a sweetheart," she continued.

"It was really quiet on the set and Halle was in the bathroom connected to where we were doing the scene. I thought she was really preparing. She comes out, takes the clapper and she goes: (in high-pitched voice) 'Yo, yo! It's a Garry Marshall movie! Take two!'

"She inhaled helium in the bathroom! I just burst out laughing. It was a fun set."

Interestingly, it was Berry's involvement (she plays a nurse) that made Bon Jovi agree to do this.

"Didn't I say I quit this? I did! (But) Halle Berry asked for me to be in it and who in their right mind would say 'no' to Halle Berry? My wife even hi-fived me on this. And I agreed to do it," he said. "It was as simple as that. Of course, Garry Marshall is a living legend. Because of Halle and Garry, I said: 'What the hell?'

"Getting back in front of the camera, I realised that I still love it. Having a real director like Garry and being in a movie that has more money in the catering budget than the kind of movies I have been doing allows for things like multiple takes and great lighting," he added.

As for what New Year's Eve meant to them, Bon Jovi quipped: "New Year's is a beautiful day because there's no pressure - no exchange of presents. It's the end of something old and start of something new so I always enjoy it."

"Quite honestly, I often don't make it until midnight!" said Swank.

"I'm 36 and already I've become like a grandma. I usually have friends over and have a nice dinner. We just sit around and reflect on the year and talk about what we want to have happen next year in our lives.

She added: "Sometimes, we do a fun thing where we write down what we want to have happen in our lives and we fold it up, save it and bring it back the next year. But I usually never make it until midnight.

"That's why I watch the ball drop on TV, because I'm in Los Angeles and at 9pm, the ball drops and we all go: 'Happy New Year!'" TRANSCRIPT COURTESY WARNER BROS

Director Gary Marshall’s follow-up to 2010's “Valentine's Day,” “New Year's Eve” celebrates love, hope, forgiveness, second chances and fresh starts, with intertwining stories told amidst the pulse and promise of New York City on the most dazzling night of the year.

Abigail Breslin plays 15-year-old Hailey, a young woman on the edge of independence, with big plans to celebrate this New Year instead of sitting it out, as usual, with her mom and a bowl of popcorn. Hailey's loving but overly cautious single mother, Kim, is played by Sarah Jessica Parker, without whom, Marshall simply states, “New York wouldn’t be the same.”

Says Parker, “It’s probably been a great source of comfort for Kim to have her daughter and this routine in her life, but what we discover is that Hailey is no longer willing to play that role. She’s at an age where she wants to be out experiencing life. For many parents that’s a hard transition, and in particular for Kim, because she’s alone and has been more reliant upon Hailey for company than she’ll admit.”

By restricting Hailey’s budding social life, Kim keeps herself locked away as well, rather than face the daunting prospect of taking another chance at love and life, a fact that’s not lost on her daughter. “Hailey isn’t trying to be mean. She’s just trying to claim her independence and let her mom know she’s not a baby anymore, and at the same time remind her that there’s a whole world out there that she’s been missing,” offers Breslin.

As Kim and Hailey confront their issues in Brooklyn, over at New York Memorial Hospital in Manhattan two couples are facing parenting issues of another kind. Tess and Griffin, played by Jessica Biel and Seth Meyers, are expecting their first child at the same time that Grace and James, played by Sarah Paulson and Til Schweiger, are due to add another to their growing family. Ordinarily, their chance meeting in the doctor’s office earlier that day and then again, later, at the hospital, would be an opportunity to bond but instead the four become locked in a frantic battle over who will take home the hospital’s $25,000 prize for giving birth to the first baby of the new year.

“They try all kinds of unusual things to induce labor,” hints Biel. “Then, after a couple of false starts, Grace’s water breaks the same time that Tess’s does and they go into labor simultaneously. It’s really close. You don’t know who’s going to win till the very last minute.”

Meanwhile, somewhere in a New York hospital, a terminally ill journalist named Stan (Robert De Niro) is refusing treatment, as he is determined to hold on just long enough to watch the ball drop in Times Square one last time. Alone. But that’s not something Nurse Aimee, played by Halle Berry, will allow.

As the evening progresses, says Berry, “Stan reflects on his life and there’s a point when he starts to hallucinate and believes Aimee is someone else, someone who was once close to him. It’s a sweet and touching moment. Aimee is away from her own loved ones on New Year’s Eve and doesn’t expect it to be a joyous occasion, but she’s going to make the best of it, and tonight that means caring for her patient. I think there’s a part of her that understands what it’s like to have regrets.”

She is known to be a doting mother to her young daughter Nahla.

But in her new film New Year's Eve, Halle Berry takes on the role with some different kind of care.

The 45-year-old actress plays a Manhattan-based nurse in director Garry Marshall's follow-up to his 2010 film Valentine's Day.

In new stills for the movie, the actress is seen wearing blue scrubs and a stethoscope around her neck as she looks after her co-star Robert De Niro, who plays Harry Buckingam, a man dying in her hospital.

Halle was initially slated to play a different role in the ensemble romantic comedy, but pulled out to focus on the custody battle for her daughter, Nahla.

She rejoined the cast in February after a judge ruled that she was free to travel with the three-year-old.

The part she was originally supposed to play, a caterer forced to work on December 31, went to Katherine Heigl, instead.

The movie itself is a star-studded project celebrating love, hope, forgiveness, second chances and fresh starts.

It is set in modern-day New York City with a variety of intertwining love stories.

33-year-old Heigl must decide whether or not to give her ex, Jon Bon Jovi, another chance.
Michelle Pfeiffer stars as a frustrated executive secretary who decides to tackle her unfulfilled resolutions with the help of Zac Efron's bike messenger.

Jessica Biel, 29, is Tess, a pregnant woman due to give birth on New Year's Day; Saturday Night Live actor Seth Meyers plays her husband.

The recently separated Ashton Kutcher plays Randy, a man who's stuck in an elevator with Lea Michele.

Both the 25-year-old Glee starlet and Bon Jovi, 49, will sing in the film.

The cast is rounded out by Carla Gugino, Sienna Miller, Alyssa Milano, Sarah Jessica Parker, Abigail Breslin, Ryan Seacrest, Hilary Swank and Sofia Vergara.

It hits American theatres on December 9.

Young Halle doing the splits with her PomPoms

A Smitten Young Shaq Wrote A Glowing Letter To Halle Berry

A Smitten Young Shaq Wrote A Glowing Letter To Halle Berry

A couple months ago, the Miami New Times leaked some emails that featured Shaquille O’Neal saying some really embarrassing things. While the most striking of these emails were probably the ones exchanged between Shaq and model Dominica Westling, also noteworthy was the 2007 correspondence in which Shaq declines to be set up with several attractive women, instead demanding – despite protestations that she was too young – no less than Rihanna.
SportsGrid senior editor Dan Fogarty noted at the time that: 1) yes, the 16-year age difference between Shaq and Rihanna is rather significant – especially at the time, when he was in his mid-30s and she not yet out of her teens; 2) Shaq really thought he had a shot with her?! Today, though, we got some confirmation that Shaq’s high standards aren’t a recent development. Deadspin leaked some passages from Shaq’s forthcoming autobiography, and in one of them, we get a glimpse of a much younger Shaq expressing his admiration for an especially lofty target:
I remember being in the dorm room one night and we were watching the movie Jungle Fever with Halle Berry in it, and I thought she was so stunning, so I wrote her a letter. I was just kind of kidding around, telling her I was a big fan and I’d love to meet her sometime. The guys totally goofed on me for doing it, but I didn’t care. A few weeks later, no lie, Halle Berry wrote me back. She sent me a signed picture that I still have hanging in my office. Turns out she’s a basketball fan. She wrote, “I’m a big fan of yours, too. I can’t wait until you get to the NBA.”
While a signed photo response seems like standard fan mail procedure, the “big fan of yours” message isn’t something Berry would be giving to just anyone…and probably made the goofing Shaq endured worthwhile. All the excerpts are worth a look – there’s info on the breakdown of Shaq’s relationships with both Kobe Bryant and Pat Riley, as well as his future plans. But we just find ourselves coming back to Shaq’s (impossibly?) high standards. Hey, there’s something to be said for knowing what you want.
